West Side Story

West-side-story-1_small

WHAT: CYT Chicago presents the one of the most beloved musicals and greatest love stories of all time, West Side Story. With a powerful book by Arthur Laurent and a melodic score by Bernstein and Sondheim, the story remains just as impactful today as when it first hit Broadway. Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, the show transports audience to the streets of New York and the volatile turf between the Jets and Sharks gangs. Musical numbers include “Tonight”, “America”, “Maria”, “I Feel Pretty” and “Somewhere”. Performed by over 50 of CYT’s best high school students from all over Illinois, this is a production not to be missed.
